Birmingham MCM Comic Con & Giant Rhinos In Space #4

 

 

 

Thank you very much to everyone who came by my table at Birmingham MCM Comic Con, it was great to see familiar faces and meet new people - I had a lovely time with my table neighbours Ryuuza, Fat Fairy, Neil Slorance and An Android Awakes. Thanks to my sister Lisa for sitting behind the table for a bit.

MCM was the last convention of the year and I’m looking forward to focusing on finishing comic pages over the winter months. Most events I’m planning to attend in the spring are unconfirmed, but the first show of the year will be True Believers Comic Festival on Saturday 6th February 2016b at Cheltenham Racecourse. Don’t forget I’ll be launching the Grimes Art Angels Fanzine at that event - submission information here! 

I make sure to keep a up to date list of confirmed events in the blog sidebar. I also have an Etsy shop (includes international shipping).

Giant Rhinos On Tour #7 - Free Mini Comic!

Hi! Giant Rhinos On Tour #7 will be released at Manchester MCM Comic Con 2015 - You will be able to pick up a Free Mini Comic at my table in the Comic Village. If I miss handing one to you (or my sister is at the table) - the secret password is ‘Do you have a business card?’

The comic pages will go online at 12noon GMT on Sunday 26th July 2015

The left over stock from 2014 ('Party Poopers’) will be sent out with online Etsy orders (along with a copy of 'Selfie Sabotage’)

A handful of Giant Rhinos In Space #1 and #2 should be at Birmingham Comic Festival on the Laydeez Do Comics table. (The next LDC meeting is on Monday 1st June with talks by-Sarah Graley, Giuseppa Barresi and Kelly Angel - more information on the Facebook page)

I will be at Gosh! Comics in London for Record Store Day - drawing on the windows with One Beat Zines / Julia Scheele, Laura Callaghan, Eleni Kalorkoti and Lizz Lunney. I also have a illustration in Not A New Wave, a Sleater-Kinney fanzine.

There are just 2 pages this week. Unfortunately I had to use a lot of my buffer because of job interviews and commissions. Then yesterday my glasses fell apart unexpectedly and now I have to wear my old prescription.

Depending on how quickly I can make new buffer pages I might post 2 pages next weekend to help with that (I'm worried about straining my eyes, I wont get new glasses for over a week).

Midlands MCM Comic Con 2015

Thank you to everyone who came by my table on Saturday at Midlands MCM Comic Con. It's only the 2nd time I've had a full 6ft table on my own like this so I'm just working out what to do with the extra space. This time I had a pile of ink drawings for people to sieve through, including some of the portraits I've been drawing for my new music blog. I updated my personal commissions web page in case anyone was interested in ordering something similar.

I have a table at Birmingham MCM Comic Con in March, I might be sharing with a friend so there is a chance the illustrations will be unavailable next time.

We will be attending Manchester MCM Expo on 19th-20th July 2014 - I will be launching the Gorillaz Fanzine and hopefully the print version of chapter 2. You'll be able to find our table in the Comic Village section of the event.
